Conflict in the Middle East:

We are closely monitoring the escalating conflict in the Middle East and are aware that a number of airlines have suspended routes to this region and the southern Mediterranean.

Airlines are monitoring developments in the Middle East and adjusting their flight routes. Please ensure to check the airline's website for up-to-date flight information. We have included current flight information below for your convenience.

 

Does our policy give coverage?

We believe it is our role to assist our customers who are in distress in any way we can, despite the presence of war exclusions in our policies. All claims will be handled in accordance with the terms and conditions of your policy.

For your convenience, we have outlined the exclusions below which are relevant to this ongoing conflict.

We refer you to the 'General Exclusions' section of this policy.

There will be no cover under any section of the Policy in respect of:

  • War, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities (whether war is declared or not), civil war, civil commotion, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military force, coup d’état, terrorism, weapons of mass destruction.
  • Your travel to a country or specific area or event to which the Travel Advice Unit of the Department of Foreign Affairs or the World Health Organisation (WHO) or similar body has advised against all or all but essential travel unless this advice relates only to COVID. In this instance, only claims relating to COVID will not be considered.

While changes to your travel or situation may not be eligible for coverage, we are available to assist you or direct you to appropriate resources. For Travel Arrangement Claims including Cancellation, Curtailment or Emergency Expenses:

If you are looking to change your travel arrangements, we recommend you contact your travel agent or travel provider to discuss your options. Some travel providers may provide penalty-free options to amend travel arrangements, contact them directly for details.

In addition, for travellers with future travel itineraries involving Israel, Iran and the Middle East region who are considering purchasing products on or after 28th February 2026, please be advised that given the current travel advice from the DFA, coverage under our policies may likely be excluded.
